As a child, I grew up around many musical influences. My parents regularly listened to varying styles of music in the house and my uncle both produced music and worked throughout the UK as a DJ. My first step in to the DJ world came at the age of 13 when I purchased my first set of turntables and learnt the art of mixing vinyl records. As technology has progressed, I've moved with the times, through the CDJ era and today use a digital controller; however I still have a home studio set up with my beloved Technics 1210's Mk2's and hundreds of vinyl from different genre

Outside of Weddings, I organise my own events whilst looking after entertainment for a number of small venues. I'm owner of CUBE Discos (my main disco and events company), but found customers we're booking me personally on recommendation, so rebranded in late 2016 under my personal name: Chris Smith - Wedding & Events DJ

Becoming a Wedding DJ was never something I had planned, mostly due to experiencing typical old style Wedding DJ's firsthand, playing generic cheese and love songs to tired guests and struggling to gain any interest on the dancefloor. My first Wedding booking came about after a previous client asked me to DJ their Wedding, but instead of a typical cheesy Wedding playlist, DJ it like their previous parties, upbeat, with music they wanted to hear... and this had stuck with my to this day!

As someone who runs events outside of the Wedding scene, I subscribe to all of the latest music, pre releases and club remixes. This is in additional to my ever growing extensive music database which spans all major genres throughout the 00's, 90's, 80, 70's, 60's and even some of the popular 50's tracks.

I believe the DJ equipment I use, is second to none and pride myself in not just having the one DJ hire setup - I'm able to give the clients flexibility and choice in how they want my setup to both look and sound, so it can be tailored to their requirements and to suit their venue. I regularly invest in new equipment and develop new ideas. All of my packages include the option of white lighting for your first dance - the popular option being my elegant White Stars & Hearts package which you will see pictured often
